DJ M.E.G. is a popular Russian DJ, producer, and choreographer. M.E.G. stands for the artist’s initials, his full name being Eduard Georgievich Magaev DJ M.E.G. has worked with the likes of Timati and David Guetta, among others, and his sound is known around the world for its upbeat, poppy vibes.

Magaev comes from the city of Vladikavkaz, and started his foray into music as a b-boy, DJ, and hype man. His hip-hop dance group, called Ice Beat, was one of the most popular in Southern Russia in the late 90s. After receiving a prize for Dance Project of the Year, Magaev opened his own dance school and began to organize breakdance competitions in Southern Russia under the name of Southside Battles.

In Sochi in 2003 Magaev met the popular DJ Dlee, and headed to Moscow to participate in an MTV dance competition. Shortly thereafter Magaev decided to permanently relocate to Moscow in order to work as a professional DJ, with the help of DJ Dlee. He became acquainted with Timati (Тимати), and was able to perform in a Timati music video for “When You’re Around” (“Когда ты рядом”).

In 2006 Magaev became resident DJ at Timati’s Black October DJ Bar, and soon became the official DJ for Timati’s highly popular Black Star Inc. record label. Four years later he released his first single, “Only You Can” (“Можешь только ты”), which was written in both Russian and English, with vocals from Karina Koks.

DJ M.E.G.’s second single, “Party Animal” came out the same year, this time with Timati’s participation. The track saw almost no radio play, but became one of the most popular songs online.

In 2011 DJ M.E.G. released a slew of popular singles, mostly with Karina Koks on vocals, including: “Make Your Move”, “Light”, “There, Where You Are” (“Там, где ты”), and “Ayo.”

The next year Magaev left Black Star for Black Hole Recordings, where he still releases music today. In 2013 DJ M.E.G.’s single “Girls” played on David Guetta’s internationally known radio show.

Magaev continues to work today as a choreographer, DJ, and Producer.

Here is DJ M.E.G. featuring his frequent collaborator Karina Koks with “There, Where You Are” (“Там, где ты”):

Lyrics for “Там, где ты”:

I’m fallin’ in love

Here is DJ M.E.G. with Karina Koks and N.E.R.A.K. with “At the Edge of the World” (“На Краю Земли”):

Lyrics for “На Краю Земли”:
