Andrzej Smolik, known simply as “Smolik,” is one of the most recognized producers in Poland. Smolik has produced six solo albums and collaborated with countless artists throughout his career.

As a musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist himself, he debuted in 1993 with the band Wiki, continuing on to collaborate with the vocalist Robert Gawliński on the production of his solo album Solo. After, he joined the band Wolves, with whom he performed until 2014. Between 1996 and 1997 Smolik worked with the Polish rock group Hey, and collaborated with Hey’s vocalist, Kasia Nosowska, on her solo album Milena in 1998. It was in this project that Smolik began experimenting with electronic music.

Smolik has also collaborated with Novika, Kayah, Myslovitz, Artur Rojek, Mika Urbaniak, Krzysztof Krawczyk, Maciej Cieślak, and Maria Peszek, among others. He won the prestigious Fryderyk Award for Composer of the Year in 2003 and 2004. In December 2008, Smolik started his own radio show on Radio Zet known as 25th Hour.

While collaborating with other artists Smolik continued to work on personal projects. He released three records under the Kayax record label; 3 and 4, which both went gold, and Smolik / Kev Fox, which went platinum. Filmmaker Małgorzata Ruszkiewicz released Expensive, a documentary biography on Smolik’s life and career, in 2012.

One of Smolik’s newest singles, “Run,” released in 2015:

Now and then
When you feel like war
Know that time has elapsed
You better hold that thought
Run, wherever I will run

Stay with me
Feel the warmth inside
Put those cold dark feelings
To the back of your mind
Run, until you hurt your pride
Run, until you hurt your pride

If you stay another night then
I think you’ll have to stay your whole life

If you stay another night then
I think you’ll have to stay your whole life

Run, wherever I will run
Run, wherever I will run

Dance with me, if you want your heart wrenched out
By another lost angel
With a scar on her back
Run, and I’ll run with you
Run, and I’ll run with you

If you stay another night then
I think you’ll have to stay your whole life

If you stay another night then
I think you’ll have to stay your whole life

If you stay another night then
I think you’ll have to stay your whole life

Run, wherever I will run
Run, wherever I will run
Run

Smolik ft. Kasia Kurzawska (SOFA) – C.Y.E. (Close Your Eyes), a 2007 hit:

Did you ever let yourself
Fall and loose your faith
Hey, take my hand, don’t let me wait
Let’s take a ride to the digital world
Close your eyes, be a child
For a while, for a while

Close your eyes, free your love
From the sky all looks fine

Day by day you’re on the run
There’s no time to stop
Hey, take my hand, don’t let me wait
Let’s take a ride to the digital world
Close your eyes, be a child
For a while, for while

Close your eyes, free your love
From the sky all looks fine

Close your eyes
uuuuuuuuu
Your eyes

Hey, take my hand, don’t let me wait
Lets take a ride to the digital world
Close your eyes, be a child
For a while, for a while

Hey, take my hand
Don’t look back
Do what you pleased
To give away your pain
Close your eyes
Be a child
For a while, for a while
Close your eyes
